Shelly > June 7, 2008 Same guitar as yesterday . . . different part of it. This was Ian's first electric guitar. He bought it while he was in high school, and after he got a second and better one, took this one apart and stripped it down to the bare wood. He did some fancy stuff, burning parts of the face to bring out the wood grain. He reshaped the frets and then rubbed an oil finish on it. This one, he says has a totally different tone from his other instrument, so he really enjoys keeping both around. Back in high school he played with the Jazz Band. He's quite talented but now mostly plays for his own enjoyment. This is not the first guitar he's refinished. He painted one pink for his girlfriend last year.
