Shelly > Another self portrait . . . how narcissistic of me. Trying my luck this time WITHOUT the camera in my face.
Shelly > Inside the ladies restroom at the Waldorf Astoria. Suppose it would be a nice place to "lounge." with girlfriends and a glass of champagne.

Hey, what's with the electric cord going to the mirror?
Shelly > Here I have used a brown monochrome color treatmentof the previous picture for the tables but have restored the natural coloring of just the background mirror.
Shelly > Self Portrait -- Me, looking at how the other half lived.

The Waldorf has a historical display, and this is one of their original formal table settings.
Shelly > Same shot as the one before, but with a pinline inner frame -- just for fun
Shelly > House phones at the Waldorf Astoria. I wonder who actually uses these.

Repetitive shapes and patterns like these always make fun images, and the toning just worked beautifully for this shot. This image uses a posterized effect.
Shelly > It's been a LONG day and we're about ready to call it a night. Here's Mike relaxing in the lobby of the Waldorf Astoria before we headed up to our room.

We got a really good package deal, or we would have never considered staying at such a place on our own.

Neat experince. More languages than the United Nations
Shelly > Looking catty-corner across the street back toward the Waldorf. They were flying a Greek flag along with the American flag when we arrived. During our stay we noticed flags from Portugal and New Zealand as well.

I LOVE the bright yellow taxis everywhere.
Shelly > The first thing we did when we hit town was to meet up with one of my delightful photography friends, Hillary Shemin and her husband Steve. They arranged their schedule to be in "The City" with their out of town guest on the day we arrived. This is Steve standing by the clock in the main lobby of the Waldorf Astoria.

They were running on a tight schedule, so we only had a few minutes together and I was so excited about our meeting that I didn't get a single usable photo with Hillary or even one of her and Steve together.

WONDERFUL -- FANTASTIC -- FUN People! We will see them again, hopefully sooner rather than later.
