Analemmatic Sundial

Stand on a tile with the name of the current month, and your shadow will tell the time. Very cool . . . I tried it, and it works!

I went scouting for new locations to shoot senior pictures this afternoon. It was a beautiful day. As I walked through the park, I kept thinking, "This is so cool. I'm out walking in the park on a gorgeous day -- and this is my WORK! HA! Life is good."

"Sometimes it seems like God is difficult to find and impossibly far away. We get so caught up in our small daily duties and irritations that they become the only things that we can focus on. What we forget is that God's love and beauty are all around us, every day, if only we would take the time to look up and see them. " -- Matthias, Correction Weblog, 11-01-03
Shelly > A clock -- of all things -- at Times Square
Shelly > The first thing we did when we hit town was to meet up with one of my delightful photography friends, Hillary Shemin and her husband Steve. They arranged their schedule to be in "The City" with their out of town guest on the day we arrived. This is Steve standing by the clock in the main lobby of the Waldorf Astoria.

They were running on a tight schedule, so we only had a few minutes together and I was so excited about our meeting that I didn't get a single usable photo with Hillary or even one of her and Steve together.

WONDERFUL -- FANTASTIC -- FUN People! We will see them again, hopefully sooner rather than later.
